Sale Plucked Following Liquidity Concerns

While a number of parties expressed an interest in purchasing Bartter-Steggles to date the company has not received a suitable offer. Hardly surprising given the current state of the financial markets. Until things significantly recover it is very much business as usual for Bartter-Steggles as it continues to build and grow its national operation.

It's hard to ride past this news!

One of Steggles national competitors, Ingham, has sold its thoroughbred breeding and racing empire to the ruler of Dubai, Sheik Mohammed bin Rashid al Maktoum. The Sheik is the most influential figure in world breeding and thoroughbred racing today. His successful bid of close to $500 million beat John Singleton and Lloyd Williams offer of $300 million by a couple of lenghts at least. For the full story please visit this link to Crickey:

From History to the Hi-Tech

If anyone was wondering about a chicken's DNA:

Bartter's Winning Beginning

Does anyone know the story of how Bartter began? This is a newpaper cutting from the 1950s when Peter Bartter was recognised for his junior farmer project. Amazing to think that a business that started out with 100 chickens under a light bulb today processes more than 2.4 million chickens every week. I heard someone say the other day that they thought Bartter-Steggles feeds 1/3 of the Australian population every week. That's a lot of chicken!

Bird's Eye View of Beresfield

Have you ever seen Beresfield from the air? This photo of Beresfield was taken last week, would anyone like to see any of the other sites from 10,000 feet?
